Our Process

Our process starts with INTENTION.  Everything we do is intentional – from the people who work on your project, materials selected, the tools in which we invest and even the time of day we arrive to your home.

Getting Started

Most projects start with a chat with Pete directly to answer your pressing questions and to begin getting to know each other.  An in-person visit will be scheduled, we’ll discuss goals and give a free general estimate. Many of our customers use a professional designer for their projects.  We love working with designers and their creative, challenging concepts.

Keeping Mess Under Control

Tearing down walls and old cabinetry, sanding and sawing are messy.  While there’s no way around the inconvenience of having a major project underway in your home, we work to mitigate it whenever possible.  We protect your home with dust barriers and drop cloths.  We use HEPA filters to pull dust out of the air.  We clean up at the end of each day and we leave your home clean when the project is done.  We treat your home as if it were our own.

Your House is a Home

We understand that being in your home is intimate and you are trusting us to be there with your family.  We keep that in mind at all times.  We don’t arrive at the crack of dawn when you are trying to eat breakfast and get your kids ready for the day and we don’t infringe on your dinnertime.  We generally work from 8:00am to 4:30pm to accommodate your schedule and to allow our team members to be home with their families too.

Work Begins

If the  project moves forward, we visit the project site again.  This time, we get busy taking specific measurements and beginning arduous planning to get more accurate costs for materials and labor.  We use top quality materials and tools and are outfitted better than most of our competitors. We present a contract to the customer with hard numbers and timelines and put your project on the schedule.

Communication Matters

Communication is where most projects succeed or fail.  Lighthouse Craftsman works to be in sync with our customers so we understand their expectations and choices and they know what’s happening in each step of the process. Our new client portal software (login at the upper right of the screen) corrals paperwork and approvals allows customers to check on the construction schedule, which team members will be on site and overall project progress 24/7.

The End in Sight

It’s our attention to detail that ensures that from planning to concept to end product, we aim to meet and exceed your expectations.

For Lighthouse Craftsman, it’s not just about the money. We keep a constant focus on treating the customer the way we would want to be treated and we stand behind our work.
