Our Story

Pete Ring, Founder, Vice President of Production

Pete Ring grew up in Upstate New York. In 1996 he decided to move to Colorado after his time serving in the United States Army. In June of 1999, upon returning from his honeymoon with his bride Charity, he started his construction career. Before 1999, Pete Ring had never used a saw, but he loved to work with his hands and create things.

He spent the early part of his career building houses in Colorado.  He moved to Maryland in 2005 and began flipping houses, doing high-end renovations with friend Kevin Young and working for a company that does kitchens and baths.

It was about this time he was trying to decide what direction his career should take when he sat in church one day and felt that direction being given to him.  Like the guiding direction from a lighthouse, he felt the Spirit leading him to become a contractor with the promise that it would pull talents and abilities out of him he did not know he had.

I was going to do it differently…

Once he became licensed, Pete felt that he wanted to do things differently, that the relationship with his customer would come first.   He did not want to think of their home renovation projects as simply the next “job”.  For him, it was not about the money.

The guiding principle that directs Lighthouse Craftsman is that we focus first on satisfying the customer and caring about building the relationship.
